'THIS GIRL CAN...' at Redesmere

For ladies interested in sailing, but not sure how to start, who to approach or even whether sailing might be right for you, on Saturday 20th July Redesmere SC is hosting its annual all female Open Day just for you. In conjunction with the 'This Girl Can' Sport England initiative, Redesmere's female sailors are hosting the Ladies Only Open Day to give women of any age (from 5yrs to 105yrs) the opportunity to see what the sport offered to women in particular.
There will be opportunities to go out on the water with other ladies, meet other lady sailors, and to meet and discuss how to start, resume or further develop your sailing with ladies from our RYA qualified Training Team - as well as the chance to share a Gin or Prosecco, experience and to discuss what sailing has to offer both to individuals and to families. If (or, more-likley, when) the sailing bug bites, alongside the normal fully integrated and family friendly Club activities and sailing opportunities, we also hold regular ladies only "Ladies that Launch" evenings on the First and Third Mondays of each month during the main sailing season. As a Club, Redesmere welcomes all sailors from absolute beginner to experienced sailor, so please come along whether you want to simply have fun on the water, sail to gain confidence, paddle board, relax or forge friendships. If you don't want to sail but would still like to come along, you are more than welcome - the more the merrier! Alternatively, please contact us via our website for further information and/or to arrange a Taster Sail - typically during one of our Ladies that Launch Evenings or Saturday afternoon Social Sails.
This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, This Girl Can wants to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.
