Redesmere Sailing Club is a great place to enjoy time with friends, even for those who are not avid sailors. Club Members have access to the Galley and Bar at all times, for hot and cold drinks, snacks and chocolates.
Our variety of Social Sailing Sessions, particularly when the weather is fine, see large numbers sitting around chatting or watching the more active amongst them out on the water. For those who prefer racing or would like to try racing, we have a varied and busy calendar running throughout the year for sailors of all levels of experience and aspiration. For those without their own boat, or considering a change of boat, the Club Boats are available on a first come first served basis for both Social Sailing and Racing.
Even Working Parties present an opportunity to catch up with old and new friends, which is helped along by a bowl of soup prepared by the Social Committee.
For those lucky enough to be able to come down outside organised sessions, members have access to the Club at all times to either sail or just to have a cup of tea, sit still and watch the wildlife. There is always a BBQ available if you want to stay a bit longer, or of course the cooker and microwave in the galley can be used.
To hear more about the Club from its Members, just take a look at the Club's video (filmed by the RYA as part of our Club of the Year award, albeit on a day of very light winds).
In addition to sailing, the Club's Social Committee provide various opportunities for fun and relaxation on and off the water. In the colder months, we even bypass the Club completely and organise walks, bowling, cinema visits, etc.
We try to have a social event of some sort at least once a month, most of which require no pre-booking and are on a turn up and enjoy basis. Please see our Social Events Programme and Calendar for details of those events already planned for 2017.
The Social Committee is always keen to hear suggestions for other events and feedback on what has worked particularly well, or not.
Want to get more involved, just let any of the Social Committee know.
