Redesmere Sailing Club is a great place to enjoy time with friends, even for those who are not avid sailors. Club Members have access to the Galley and Bar at all times for hot and cold drinks and snacks etc and BBQs are also available to use throughout the season. For those without their own boat, or considering a change of boat, Club Boats (and Buoyancy Aids) are available free of charge and without pre-booking - simply turn-up and play!
Our varied of Social Sailing Programme, particularly when the weather is fine, sees large numbers sitting around chatting or watching the more active amongst them out on the water. For those who prefer Racing or would like to Try Racing, we have a varied and busy Calendar running throughout the year for sailors of all levels of experience and aspiration.
Even Working Parties present an opportunity to catch up with old and new friends, which is helped along by a continuous supply of refreshments and a warm and filling hot-lunch prepared by the Social Committee.
For those lucky enough to be able to come down outside organised sessions, members have access to the Club and to the Club Boats at all times either for Informal Sailing or just to have a cup of tea, sit still and watch the wildlife. There is always a BBQ available if you want to stay a bit longer, or of course the cooker and microwave in the galley can be used.
To hear more about the Club from its Members, just take a look at the Club's video (filmed by the RYA as part of our Club of the Year award, albeit on a day of very light winds).
In addition to sailing, SUP and RC, the Club's Social Committee provide various opportunities for fun and relaxation on and off the water. In the colder months, we even bypass the Club completely and organise occasional walks, bowling, cinema visits, etc.
We have a regular programme of social events through the year, most of which require no pre-booking and are on a turn up and enjoy basis. Please see our Social Events Programme and Calendar for details of those events already planned for 2019.
The Social Committee is always keen to hear suggestions for other events and feedback on what has worked particularly well, or not.
Want to get more involved, just let any of the Social Committee know.
