Power Boat Training
Powerboat Familiarisation Training is offered to all Members (aged 16 or over) who have not had experience of of driving a powerboat or who need a refresher. This course is essential to all Members to understand what is expected of them when carrying out Club Safety Boat duties and the particular constraints of safe powerboat operation at Redesmere. Powerboat Familiarisation Training is offered to any Member who has not had experience of driving a powerboat at Redesmere and needs to understand what is expected when doing Club Safety Boat duties.
RYA Powerboat Training
You do not need any previous experience to take an RYA National Powerboat Scheme Level 1 or 2 course and powerboat training is available to anyone aged 16 or over. The course only runs in the spring, when the fishermen have their closed season, and is held over two full days or an equivalent number of sessions of both theory and practical driving exercises. RYA Safety Boat
To undertake the RYA National Powerboat Scheme Safety Boat Course you must hold a Powerboat Level 2 certificate and be a competent, suitably experienced, powerboat driver. These courses are organised subject to demand and availability of instructors.
