Facilities
The Club is available to Members all year round, including access to the lake, Clubhouse, Club Boats, Safety Boats and the Race Officer's hut. The main Club sailing programme runs from March through to December.
The Clubhouse has excellent views over the lake, a main club room with bar, galley, and changing facilities complete with toilets and showers. The Club also has step-free access to the Clubhouse and disabled facilities, along with two tri-maran Challenger dinghies suitable for either single-handed or accompanied sailors of restricted ability.
The Club also has a large fleet of some 40 single and multi-handed Club Boats, and a small number of Club SUPs, available for use by Club Members, whatever their age, level of experience or sailing aspiration; RS Quests, RS Zests, RS Fevas, Toppers, Optimists and Lasers. Club Boats, SUPs and Buoyancy Aids are available free of charge without pre-booking - simply turn-up and play!
For Members with their own boats, boat berths are allocated at the beginning of each year when membership is renewed, with berths are allocated on a first come first served basis. Members are expected to look after their own berths and a strimmer and lawn mower are available. All members must display their boat ID sticker on the transom of their boat.
Working parties are essential to the maintenance, upkeep and development of the Club infrastructure and are held on various dates throughout the year. Redesmere is a Club run by its Members for its Members and Members should attend a minimum of 2 working parties each year; there are always plenty of jobs to do.
