Redesmere Achieves Bronze Status for RYA Single Use Plastic Free Award.

Following a campaign last year and over many years, Redesmere has been recognised for its efforts to reduce the use of Single Use Plastic at the Club. This award is part of the Single-Use Plastic Free Accreditation from the Final Straw Foundation & The RYA Green Blue. RYA GreenBlue.

As a Club we took the decision to stop buying plastic bottled water and other bottled drinks. We also will continue to use real washable, glasses, china crockery and metal cutlery. We don't use plastic straws and our condiments and teabgs are all in reuseable containers. These are simple things but all help to reduce our impact on the ennvironment. Much of these things were already in place due to our excellent Social Committee. Some single use plastic is inevitable but we will work on these so we can go for the Gold Award.
