REDESMERE SAILOR WINS at RED BULL YOUTH AMERICA's CUP

Redesmere sailor Elliot Hanson has added the Red Bull Youth America's Cup title to the string of International and World trophies he has won since progressing through the Club's training and development programme.

As Sport Director and Olympic legend Roman Hagara noted, nine members of the inaugural Red Bull Youth America's Cup are now on senior America's Cup teams.

"Look for the sailors you've seen here in this 2017 edition of the Red Bull Youth America's Cup to be in the next America's Cup four years from now," Hagara stated. "These young talents are the superstars of the future, and after seeing the level of skill and competitiveness they've shown here in Bermuda, there's no doubt they're going to take the sport to the next level."

Sir Ben Ainslie, who had his first experiences of sailing at Redemere and is an Honorary Member of the Club, was one of the first to pass on his congratulations to Elliot and his fellow team members in the Land Rover BAR Academy team.
