ANOTHER WEEKEND OF CHAMPAGNE SAILING...

Published 00:00 on 11 Jul 2017

Another stunning sailing weekend, with something for everyone - the second of our fortnightly Social Sailing sessions Power Boat Training, Sail Training and Laser Open Racing. The best of all that is Redesmere and, again, what great weather; blue skies, sun and a steady breeze.

Power Boat Level 2 training in the Clubhouse and afloat, learning not just how to drive, but also key skills in manoeuvring and basic rescue.

Glorious Social Sailing with a steady breeze, lots of sun and with Brian as Beachmaster providing help and assistance as required - just the conditions to have a great time on and off the water and so many people did. It was great to see so much activity on and off the water as people just enjoyed the weather, the sailing, the Galley and, of course, the Bar.

For those looking to brush up and improve their sailing, the Solo Class Association were providing boat specific training - as a prelude to the forthcoming Solo Open at Redesmere.

Sunday saw the first Open Event of the racing season as we welcomed Laser sailors from across the North-West for the Redesmere round of the regional Laser Championship, where they were treated to Redesmere's traditional high levels of hospitality from the stalwarts in the Club Galley. Next week sees a return to the Club racing with both Handicap and Pursuit racing on the card.

All in all, a great Redesmere weekend showcasing the best of Redesmere as members of all abilities, aspiration and experience have a great time learning new skills, dusting off old skills and generally having fun on the water. Long may it continue through the season.

Look out for our next Social Sail on 6th May. If you want to know more, come on down anytime or drop in at the Club Open Day on Saturday 13th May.
