FUN SAILING in a weather challenged Training Week
Published 00:00 on 24 Jul 2017
This year's recently completed summer Training Week was another stunning success and a tribute to the hard work of all the Club's volunteer RYA accredited Instructors. The conditions over the 5 days were interesting and variable; from high winds changing direction to no wind, to hail, to driving rain as well as some beautiful sunshine. Over 30 children took part covering the full breadth of the RYA Youth Scheme, RYA Seamanship skills and RYA Instructor development, with a range of Certificates being awarded at the course end. The usual end of course BBQ was, unfortunately, ruled out by the weather, but celebrations were held in the Clubhouse instead.
By the end of the week there were lots of tired but happy young people, looking forward to their opportunities to get on the water during the school holidays and beyond. Parent comments on the week included,
"Huge well done all and massive thank you's to Rachel Ward and her team of RYA Instructors, other helpers and everyone who made it happen"
"Owen and Rachel loved the week. Thank you Team Redesmere"
