SEPTEMBER SUN, SAILING and TRAINING

Published 1:00am on 17 Oct 2019

September is one of the busiest month's at the Club and this year's good weather just added to the spirit of enjoyment and fun at the Club. With something for everyone, including novices, social sailors, new-to-racing and sailing veterans through to Regional Open racing events, the fun has never stopped.

The regular Saturday Social Sails and Sunday Club Racing were supplemented by

  • Adult and Junior RYA training of 20 Members
  • Bart's Bash, the largest participation sailing event in the world with over 30 Members 'racing' sailors around the world to raise money for the Andrew Simpson Foundation, with our fleet of RC sailors taking part in the official Biggest Little Boat Bash
  • Round 8 of the RYA North West Junior & Youth Traveller event, with nearly 50 sailors on the water from across the North West
  • Stand Up Paddleboarding
  • The Club Junior & Novice Championships; whilst Juniors and Novices frequently race, these two race series are particularly geared for Juniors and Novices, giving them chance to compete with their own peers and discover the immediate positive impact on their boat handling of the discipline that sailing a fixed course brings

Fresh hot and cold food was in plentiful supply from our dedicated Social team and, with the good weather, close attention had to be kept on stocking up the Bar Cellar and the Iced Lollipop supply for the children.

If you missed out on these, but want to try the 'Redesmere Experience', simply Contact Us or call down at any of our regular events. The next key events are our annual Comet Class Association open event and the Halloween Social Sail - where the watery spirits emerge... ...join us if you dare.
