Bart's Bash is the world's largest sailing event, where sailors of all experience and ability across all forms of the sport, from wakeboarding through to ocean racing, using the unique Bart Number for handicapping, with all funds raised going to the Andrew Simpson Foundation.
This year's Bart's Bash will be held on over the weekend of 12-13th September. At Redesmere we will be holding our event during our regular Sunday programme on 15th September, with the third of the three races that day designated as our Bart's Bash event.
Members and friends of all ages, experience and aspiration are welcome to take part, a true reflection of the Bart's Bash ethos. For a number of people last year it was the first time they had ever raced and for others it is the only race they enter each year - that is how special an event it is. To make it even better our Social Committee will be providing Afternoon Tea and Cake.
So remember, warm up races at 10:15am and/or 11:30am (if you wish), Bart's Bash event at 1:00pm followed Afternoon Tea & Cake and then back on the water for some Social sailing or maybe just socialise whilst watching the rest of the day's fun from the Clubhouse.
All participants, on and off the water, will be expected to comply with the Club's current Covid-19 guidance and any other measures that may be necessary on the day, eg phased launching, race start and recovery etc. The usual sanitiser and sponges for boat wipe-down etc will be available.
