BART's BASH
Bart's Bash is the world's largest sailing event, where sailors of all experience and ability across all forms of the sport, from wakeboarding through to ocean racing, using the unique Bart Number for handicapping.
Our Bart's Bash 'race' starts at 1:00pm, so please be rigged and 'ready to go' well before then. Despite the current challenges, we are trying to make our event as large as usual this year as all money raised goes to widening sailing participation to kids of all backgrounds. All participants will be expected to comply with the Club's current Covid-19 guidance and any other measures that may be necessary on the day, eg phased launching, race start and recovery etc. The usual sanitiser and sponges for boat wipe-down etc will be available.
After the 'race' why not stop around for Afternoon Tea & Cake, provided by The Social Committee, with all funds raised going to the Andrew Simpson Foundation. You could also then go back out on the water for a Social Sail or take a non-sailing member of your family, or 'bubble,' on a Bart's Challenge - simply take them out on the water (and back!) for them to push their own boundaries and/or maybe try something different.
The day is an ideal opportunity for novice and inexperienced helms to try racing or to improve their skills.
