Forget Oasis, the Comets and Solos are getting back together again.
After going their own way (the last Joint Comet and Solo Open was held before 2017) 2024 marks the return of a Joint Comet and Solo Open at Redesmere on Saturday 28th September.
The Open is for boats of the Comet class (with Standard, Xtra, White Xtra or Mino rigs) and boats of the National Solo class.
There will be separate starts with the Solos going first, and separate prizes.
The entry fee for the event is £10. Lunch, including a vegetarian option, & hot drinks throughout the day, will be available for £6.
Briefing will be at 10.30 and the first race at 11. Spectators are very welcome and if you fancy entering but don't have a boat contact the Class Representatives and you might be in luck.
This is one of a selection of regional Open Events for the main classes and Junior sailors that the Club hosts through the season. These events provide an ideal introduction to regional open racing, as well as enhanced competition on the day.
