Comet Open 2018 - Cancelled!

This Saturday was to have seen Redesmere host a Comet Open Event at the Club.

Unfortunately, all the weather forecasts are now predicting 20kts of wind from the South with gusts over 40kts and as those who sail at Redesmere know, the geography of the lake is such that the gusts often strike at 90 degrees to the prevailing direction making the lake practically unsailable in the forecast conditions.

With great reluctance, we have therefore decided that the Saturday Comet Open should be cancelled.

There will be no organised Club sailing on Saturday and no Safety Cover. All volunteers are stood down for the Saturday.

The Club facilities remain available to all Members as usual, and if anyone wished to sail they can do; as always, it is their choice to make

Members are invited to consider whether their boats are securely tied down in the boat park.
