OCTOBER SUNSHINE, SAILING AND RACING...
Published 4:54pm on 13 Oct 2020
The days may be getting shorter and the temperatures beginning to drop, but when the wind stirs and/or the sun comes back out Redesmere sailors are continuing to come out in numbers to enjoy the joy of social sailing and racing. Throughout the Breakout Series II, including our regular Junior and Novice Championships, there were regularly some 30 boats on the water, while the Social Sailing on Saturdays and on Sundays following the Breakout races always saw many social sailors (& SUPs) on the water.
For many of the less-experienced sailors who have developed their skills through the Club's RYA Training programme and frequent coaching sessions, the Junior and Novice events were the ideal opportunity to enjoy developing their skills further whilst sailing alongside more experienced racers. The free-to-use Club Boats were much in evidence, providing single and double-handed options for both Juniors and Adults. It was a similar tale at the Social Sails, with fun and enjoyment on the water at the forefront - a number of the Juniors taking great delight in relaxing with a Topper or SUP after their morning racing.
The sailing season continues through October and November and, no doubt, the fun and enjoyment will also continue.
