Redesmere Sailing Club

There are a number of club boats available for use by Club Members; GP14’s, Graduates, Toppers, Oppi’s, Laser 2, Lasers.  A number of boats are on open access and available to members at anytime during the sailing season.  All club boats are available during social sailing and club racing on a first come first served basis. 

GP14
Designed for two people, a GP14 can carry 3 comfortably, it is difficult to find a more versatile family boat.  The GP14’s at Redesmere are a good training boat for adults and are well used by members.

Oppi
The first training boat for the younger club members, oppi’s are very stable and easy to handle. 

Topper
A single-handed dinghy for all ages, these boats are rugged and durable yet strong and light.  Easy to handle for beginners and offer highly competitive racing for the more experienced. 

Graduate
Designed for two people, the boat is relatively light for a double handed boat.  Easy to handle by juniors and beginners. 

Laser
Designed as a racing dinghy, it can be demanding for a beginner to get to grips with but is rewarding and exhilarating to sail.  The Laser Radial and 4.7 rigs are reduced sail area rigs that can be used on the same hull, these make easier sailing for lighter weight helms or windy conditions.
