At Redesmere Sailing Club there is Sailing for everyone; social sailing for those who wish to potter, practice or pop down for a drink; racing, a variety of handicap and pursuit racing for all levels of ability, from novices to extremely experienced providing varying degrees of competition for all.

The Club is an accredited RYA training centre and Volvo Champion Club, providing RYA certified training for all levels from beginner to advanced.  Our RYA qualified instructors are all volunteers and support the Club to run its popular and comprehensive training programme

The Club has an action packed calendar with a number of social events ensuring members enjoy their time on and off the water, this year’s calendar includes; barn dance, quiz night, charity raft race & bbq, fun day, endurance event, and Christmas party.

Redesmere has a busy sailing calendar with something for everyone. Serious competitors are guaranteed some serious competition, some of Redesmere's members can only be described as fantastic sailors, members with years of experience and younger members competing in national and world events.

Club members can enjoy numerous racing series spread throughout the year, offering a variety of racing from pursuit to personal handicap. Unlike many other clubs the priority at Redesmere is handicap sailing, this ensures a large and varied fleet week in week out.

Racing can be as competitive as you want it to be. If you are interested in giving racing a go why not ask to crew for someone or take out one of the club boats with a willing volunteer. There are always people around the boat park who will help and offer advice if you need it; don't hesitate to ask. If you are not sure of the starting sequences check with the OD or AOD, don't forget to sign on and off.

Have a look at our 'give racing a go' getting started guide. Don't worry about getting in the way or not knowing the rules. You won't learn until you try, I bet if you asked half the competitors on the water they don't that many rules! Its great to welcome new competitors to racing, come along and give it a go.
